What lip blushing does

The treatment defines the lip border, can balance small asymmetries, and gives the look of fuller lips without filler. The healed result is a natural tint, not a painted-on lipstick, so many clients stop carrying lipstick for everyday wear.

Color is custom-mixed for your skin tone, from soft pinks to warm nudes, corals and berry tones. A sheer natural tint stays close to your own lip color; fuller coverage gives a more polished, made-up look. You choose the direction with María before she starts.

Before your appointment

  • If you have a history of cold sores, take antiviral medication 3 days before and after the treatment.
  • Exfoliate gently and keep your lips hydrated for at least 3 days before.
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine and blood thinners for 24 to 48 hours before.
  • No lip filler for at least 4 weeks before.
  • Avoid sunburned or chapped lips, and arrive with clean, makeup-free lips.

Healing and touch-up

Keep the lips clean and dry for the first 24 hours, then apply the healing ointment you are given 2 to 3 times a day for 7 days. Some flaking is normal; do not pick or peel. Skip kissing, pools, saunas and heavy sweating while you heal, and no lipstick for 10 days.

Expect the color to look brighter at first and then fade 30 to 50% as it heals. That is normal, and it is why the first touch-up exists: it is $160 and is usually booked 6 to 8 weeks later. After healing, use an SPF lip balm to protect the color. Full instructions are on the lip blushing page.

Lip blushing is $500. The first touch-up is $160.

Will the color fade?

Yes. The color fades about 30 to 50% while it heals. The touch-up 6 to 8 weeks later evens out the healed color.

I get cold sores. Can I still have it?

Tell us when you book. Take antiviral medication 3 days before and after the treatment, as your doctor advises.
